"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." (Ecclesiastes 4:12)
As the scripture above explains, there is strength in numbers.
We all need strength to carry out the plan that God has for our lives.
One way to do this is by joining forces with like-minded believers.
The Focus Groups that have been established at Abba Christian Center are for just this purpose.
We realize that the quickening pace of our society, together with our increased responsibilities,
often consume our days and force us into a rut known as the ‘daily grind’.
We shift into ‘survival mode’ and begin to overlook the real meaning of life.
Many times we feel God speaking to us to do different things, but never find the time to do them.
We shuffle through life allowing our light to shine, but have no real focus or direction.
Allowing our light to shine is good, but what would happen if that light began to converge on one point?
Take a piece of computer paper and lay it out on the sidewalk in the sun.
What happens to it? Nothing!
Take that same piece of paper and hold a magnifying glass directly over it.
What happens to it? FIRE!
Scattered light is good, but power only comes when the light converges!
Focus Groups are designed to refocus our attention to the more important aspects of life while providing
helpful ideas, insights, and the encouragement we need to carry out God’s plan for our lives.
Do you have focus?
The ‘My Attack Plan’ (MAP) Chart is meant to help us focus our light on specific outreaches that match our lifestyles and realms of influence.
Focus Groups are small groups that meet once a month to discuss each other’s ‘Attack Plans’.
During this time the group assesses how well they have done executing their plans throughout the month.
Accountability is one of the most powerful and least used tools in the body of Christ.
To help us keep each other accountable to the plan that God has given us, each member is asked to fill out a monthly ‘ACC Accountability Report’.
Members of the group discuss their progress and bounce ideas off of each other in order to assist one another in
glorifying God by bearing more fruit for the kingdom of heaven.
In addition to the monthly meetings, members are encouraged to interact regularly by telephone and email.
These groups are close-knit and confidential.
